This blog post covers everything you want to know about the F136FB engine, its specifications, applications, performance, and how buying a used Ferrari engine from us will be your best and cost-effective option.

What Is the Ferrari F136FB Engine?

The Ferrari F136FB belongs to the exclusive Ferrari F136 engine family, a family of naturally aspirated V8 engines co-developed by Ferrari and Maserati. The F136FB engine specifically powers the Ferrari California—a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive GT coupe that debuted in 2008.

The F136FB is a 4.3-liter DOHC V8 with direct fuel injection. It produces an incredible 453 horsepower (at 7,750 RPM) and 358 lb-ft of torque (at 5,000 RPM), so it’s perfect for high-performance applications and engine swaps.

The F136FB is a high-tech Italian engineering, ear-scream-exhaust-noises, and rev-happy powerband amalgamation all rolled into one. And if you buy it from us used, you’re gaining that same driving exhilaration—without the stunning cost of brand-new Ferrari engine.

Why Buy a Pre-Owned Ferrari F136FB Engine?

1. Mega Cost Savings

A brand-new F136FB engine—if you can even purchase one—is jaw-droppingly expensive and typically only located at Ferrari dealerships. Compare that to a used F136FB engine available on the market, which offers the same Ferrari DNA and performance at a fraction of the expense. Collector, restorer, or performance buff, this is the smart way to Ferrari power.

2. Genuine Ferrari Performance

There’s nothing quite like a naturally aspirated Ferrari V8. Its F136FB engine boasts electric exhaust note, linear power input, and snickering-razor-throttle response. Even in used form, it retains raw horsepower and true Ferrari feel.

3. Ideal for Restorations and Engine Swaps

Replacing a Ferrari California? Converting to a bespoke sports car or kit car? The F136FB engine is the perfect choice for prestige conversions due to its size, power, and heritage. Buying a second-hand engine makes such conversions affordable and within reach.

4. Proven Reliability

Though Ferraris are said to be exclusive, the F136FB engine was also designed to be powerful. Proper maintenance, and these engines will go on for hundreds of thousands of miles. Our pre-owned Ferrari F136FB engines are inspected and tested so you can count on both performance and longevity.
