We’re pleased to offer the 06-07 Chevrolet and GMC 2500/3500 6.6 LBZ Duramax Diesel Engine for sale. With proven reliability, heavy towing capability, and a reputation that has stood the test of time, this is an engine that’s in high demand among diesel owners.

Why Select the LBZ Duramax Engine?

The LBZ Duramax is generally regarded by many as one of the best diesel engines GM ever produced. Deployed in 2006 and 2007 Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickup trucks, the engine combines classic ruggedness with state-of-the-art performance. It was the last of the Duramax engines before emissions requirements introduced additional complexity in the shape of diesel particulate filters (DPFs) and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) coolers.

With the LBZ, you’re obtaining an engine that is easy to work on, powerful, and reliable—constructed to work hard and endure a long time.

2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD
2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD
2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic 2500HD / 3500HD

Features Which Make the LBZ Engine Noticeable

1. Heavy-Duty Internals

The block on the LBZ contains stronger connecting rods and pistons than earlier designs like the LLY. That makes it a better choice for high-performance builds.

2. Simpler Emissions System

No diesel particulate filter (DPF), selective catalytic reduction (SCR), or complex EGR coolers to worry about. That means less maintenance and better fuel economy.

3. Factory Power With Room to Grow

With 360 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, it offers exceptional towing power. Plus, the LBZ takes well to tuning and upgrades if you’re aiming for more.

4. Proven Reliability

These engines regularly hit 300,000+ miles with proper maintenance. Our tested engines are ready for a whole lot more.
